You wrote: " Yet, the fine line between bearing one’s own consequences and blaming the victim was very slight."

There is a ton of new age philosophy that is infecting people's minds with this kind of BS: A Course in Miracles, The Secret, etc. It's infectious and not only is it making people hardened and cruel toward each other, but it is extremely easy to internalize, and enhance our self-hate and self-blame.

Thanks for your comment, yet you may have taken the line out of context.

Oh. I will have to read it again. Hmm... I read it again and I admit that the writing, while *excellent* and incredibly vivid, is a bit too dense for me to garner your intention, with that particular line.

I have read all of your recent Losing It posts, and they are indeed fascinating & gripping. I am very glad I got the opportunity to read them, and it has given me a lot to ponder. I do find it curious, that with the admitted cruelty of some of your past actions, that you were surprised &/or hurt by the callousness displayed by your former employer. My guess -- and I may be wrong -- is that the employer was also a younger generation (than you) and acting on the Ayn Rand model as well.
